Cobán, the City.

Cobán, was founded the Fourth of August, 1543. Charles the V, king of Spain, gave to this city the title of Imperial City. Cobán, it's place of the head of the Department of Alta Verapaz, in Guatemala, Central America.
Cobán, has an extension of 2,132 Kms2. It's 1,320 meters above the sea level. The distance from Guatemala city, the capital of Guatemala, is 205 Kms, on a paved road. And, there is a small airport. A high percent of the population living in Alta Verapaz are Mayan Q'eqchi'.
